Client: Los Angeles-based online social gaming company.
Challenge: Create complete brand and UX for a socially-driven American Football trivia game. The user supports their team and wins prizes by answering questions to gain points and trophies.
Task: Develop identity for game and teams, create visual design, illustration of trophies, developer oversight
Solution: The game design builds on a palette of colors and graphic elements to deliver an aesthetic that is contemporary, masculine and football-specific. This is carried across the game in every detail. Real photography makes the game feel more serious and apart from standard social (cartoony) games.
The identity speaks to trivia/knowledge (owl) while relating to current pro-team branding. The trophies were designed to be appealing and desirable, and to create a real sense of achievement when won.
This is a project, and a game, that I am very proud to have worked on. It has already attracted over 4,000 monthly players. During the NFL season the average weekly reach on FB was 200K.
Awards: Official Honoree in the 2012 Webby Awards.
