Treasury Holdings
Treasury Holdings is one of Ireland’s largest property companies, with interests in Ireland, the U.K., Europe, Russia and China. Most of the properties they own are landmark buildings, noted for their history and architecture. Xmi Design was asked to design their corporate portfolio in order to showcase both the company and all its extensive holdings.
As lead designer on this project, I decided to create a coffee-table style book, using the large scale of the format to emphasise both the scale of the company and the of its buildings. I also devised a unique binding system using rivets and separated covers to ensure longevity for the piece. As the portfolio of buildings and properties owned by Treasury i in a constant state of flux and building stages, I felt it was important that their corporate portfolio should also be easy to update so that it remained relevant and reflective of the company. Each page is printed as a single sheet and bound into the spine, allowing for infinite addition or removal of properties.
The cover features a graphic treatment, employing a deboss (using elements from the companys recognisable logo) and a silver foil stamp of the logo itself in full. It is covered with grey suede, both alluding to the nature of the content, and providing a nice contrast with the crisp matte paper that forms the bulk of the piece. The content comprises a graphic text treatment, using Kontrapunkt (a contemporary Danish typeface) with DIN for the body copy, and stunning photography by Irelands leading architectural photographer, Gerry O’Leary.
I acted as lead designer for the project (under the guidance of Dennis Kelly, Creative Director) from sketchbook to press, handling all design and production.
This project was designed while I worked with XMI Design in Dublin
